I've been waiting until I was farther along to post this, because I'm awfully old to be having my first kiddo . . . but this morning's ultrasound confirmed a boy, so I thought I'd finally share the great news. We are naming him Robert Christian (after Ken's father), and he is due April 15, which should be easy to remember!

Our scan this morning showed excellent news on possible birth defects or chromosomal abnormalities (low odds at least), which thrilled me. Ken was so delighted to see a boy on the monitor; he is simply over the moon. I'm making the best of it, thinking that I'll make this kiddo into a left-handed relief pitcher. Even TERRIBLE southpaw relievers do really well, so I figure we have nothing to lose. :D

Anyway, I'm at fourteen weeks, which is still pretty early, but things look really good!

AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats to you and the hubby. Welcome to the world of grey hairs and sleepless nights. You will absolutely come to love the little quirks of the new little being... after you get over his lack of need to sleep.

He will be taking your and your husband's energy for his own use.

Congratulations! May all go well for you and yours, and may your deduction keep his appointment with April 15th!

Whoo-Whoo!! That is so great - we're very happy for you and will be praying that everything goes as planned.

Boys are okay. At least, our 9 months with Roo have been fun. :) And, you know what, Theodore is in your area and has had lots of kid experience with visiting the Mothaar clan so he'll be all ready to babysit!

Oh brilliant! That is such wonderful news, Case. You have very much my best wishes on luck, and, well, that all things shall turn out alright. It is a somewhat dicey proposition when you're older, but if the initial tests have turned out right and with modern medicine, things are at the very least looking bright.

Congratulations.

One of my co-workers brought in the ultrasound pictures of her baby boy (can't remember when she's due). She ran all over the office asking everyone "do you want to see pictures of my son's junk?" We have a picture thread open. You can always use something to embarass him with later in life.

Just remember your children will decide on your nursing home, and one of them will probably vote for the ice flow.

That's awesome! Congratulations! Hope y'all are ready for it, I've never had the, er, experience of children but from what I've gathered, be prepared to say goodbye to steady sleep once the little tyke comes along :P

Congratulations! That's great news indeed.

I suppose I should start scaring you with all the horrible things that can happen. Like when he gets his Driver's License.
