My wife convinced me to watch with her this Netflix series on the life of Queen Elizabeth. Rather heavily dramatized in places but not bad. If nothing else it's got me reading up to see which elements of the episodes are factual and which are not and so learning more about the era.

Most likely during her training in the Auxiliary Territorial Service (women's branch of the British Army) in the Second World War. She trained as a driver and mechanic.

If its the same Auxiliary Service that we don't know and love, I'd think shooting her way through a road block is the least of it.

Given Her Majesty's driving skills, she might not need to shoot her way through. IIRC, she's pretty handy with a Land Rover.
