Magnet is on course 45, speed 24 knots. She has received heavy but inaccurate fire from the Dandalo. Magnet can not see the convoy because of the smoke screen.

Kaiser Karl VI is on course 90, speed 11 knots. She is leading Panther and Leopard towards the convoy. Flooding in the stern is under control. Max speed is 17 knots. She can see the smoke of either Magnet or Dandalo.

Panther is on course 90, speed 11 knots.

Leopard’s status is the same as Panther.

The cruisers have not been under fire in the last 5 minutes.

Battle Divisions are on course 90 at 17 knots except for Ezherhog Karl.

Ezherhog Karl has assumed a position at the rear of the battleline.

Escorting vessels are in their new positions in the formation.

We have noted the enemy battle line moving into position. Their speed appears to be about 18 knots. They are moving on course about 30 to intercept our battleline.

Cruisers maintain course and speed. All cruisers continue to conduct repairs as possible.

Magnet go to flank speed on course 015, continuing to chase salvoes if engaged. Report Dandolo's course and speed.

Maintain course and speed.

If the flag doesn't order otherwise, open fire when within range.

Make sure all men are at their battle stations.

So, was going to post Monday afternoon, but the weather had other ideas. Next time i'll remember not to schedule fleet orders for the same day a hurricane hits, the power lines don't like hurricanes.

Edit - Actually, hold up, have a better idea. See below

For some time i've been wanting to turn in to try and cross at the head of the enemy formation, but the relative fleet positions have not allowed for that, a problem exacerbated by our slight speed disadvantage. It occurred to me that we might try to cross at the tail of the enemy formation, but again the relative positions do not allow for it. This is thus going to be a straight up line battle. Attaining a positional advantage was simply not in the cards.

That is not to say, however, that we are at a disadvantage. The enemy fleet is in box cruising formation, we are deployed in line of battle. If we force an engagement now, we have the advantage, for their battleship fire is masked by their cruisers. We have no such problem, because 400t destroyers offer little visual impediment and can be fired over. It is rather tempting to avoid battle and go for the transports, and indeed it is surely the case that we can catch and sink them all, even while being pounded by the enemy. The problem is that in that situation we will probably proceed to be sunk ourselves, making the victory rather hollow.

As the saying goes, "Who dares, wins." Therefore, orders are as follows:

-Fleet hold formation, maintain speed, and turn in succession to course 110.
-Prepare to open fire!
