I just saw this as well. I am saddened his loss and will pray for him. May he actually receive a Predreadnought salute upon entering heaven.

I'm very sad to hear that.

Prayers sent.

Andrews sister Brigid said that his family has read the comments here and would like to pass the message:

"This is Andrew Jensen's sister, and I want to personally thank all of you so very much for sharing this thread. We always knew he knew a lot of people and touched a lot of peoples' lives, but this has shown how little we actually knew. Thank you again for the thoughts and prayers, he is already missed very much!".

I only recently learned that Dave Briedis, aka CanisD of the alternate history ship drawings, passed away in August, and now this.

Sad to see the numbers of knowledgeable and talented among us diminish, but I am heartened by the hope of the Resurrection and the words of George Patton; "...we should thank God that such men lived."

I had not known about that. RIP CanisD.

Although sad, thanks for the advice 1BigRich.

My late in life interest in naval matters was at the start dominated by Bob, CanisD and others.

Fair seas and following winds.

Wow, this is something I wasn't expecting to see today. Truly a loss to the board. RIP

Other than online, I didn't know either one of these gentlemen, but enjoyed their posts immensely. I shall miss their input, RIP. Truly, life is fragile...

I have read many of his posts since I found this board (actually the previous board... but that a long time ago)
You will be missed

I can't believe Mahan was gone... He was one of my closest friends when I was young and the internet was pretty much the only part of my troubled life I could turn to for guidance... I felt like I had to post here to honour him, even though I'm long gone from this place, because at the end of the day, his true friendship was important to me and he was always a perfect gentleman.
