Words can't express. I remember him well back on warships1 years ago.

Rather fitting as today is Remembrance Sunday, a fact he likely hasn't overlooked.

RIP, sir. My prayers and condolences to his family and friends. We have all lost a friend.

Still as GEN Patton said we should celebrate that he had been with us.

Ouch!!

The good news: He went quick, and he's in a better place.

He's going out in style:

A Celebration of Andrew’s Life will be held at the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month (11 AM on Wednesday, 11/11)

8-)

Oh Jesus. What to say that hasn't already been said?

If anyone is going to be there - or in a position to celebrate that Life otherwise - please offer up a toast for me to his memory.

Mike

Well, damn.

RIP Atmahan. Condolences to his family.

Theodore, thanks for the link to the Obituary. It helps to put a face to a name I've been seeing for a long time.

Paul

That's really shocking news. I did not know him well, but his posts were always worth reading. He was just two years and three months (to the day) older than I am, and that is far too young to go. I can only offer my condolences to his family and loved ones.

Sleep well and live long in the memory of those whose lives you enriched.

Wait, what?

I am absolutely floored. I can't think of anything that has not been said yet. RIP.

I hope I'm not overstepping the bounds by suggesting that the in-progress novel, Conflict of Interest, bear a dedication to our late friend.

I'm fairly sure he would enjoy that.

Kazan Thunderbolts is on the verge of coming out now. I'll shift the dedication of that.

If his family is reading this, please accept my condolences. I never met him in person, but his posts were always well considered and gentlemanly.

This, except add some anger. Too goddamned young, and too soon, by far. "What the hell?" is all I can think of right now.

There's never a right time to go. This one is way too soon. I hope he's in a better place.
